Having a child changes life dramatically. I was blessed with my own little nugget on March 4th 2017 and its been a rollercoaster ride ever since. If I thought I didn’t have any time before….man if only I knew.
There will undoubtedly be some changes in my life. Already some are starting to form. Those of you who know me know that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is my passion. I would often train 4-6 times per week. Well, unfortunately baby Frankie has decided that was a bit too much. If I’m lucky, I can sneak out twice a week during lunch for a quick training session.
Now what about tailgating?? I’ve got a lot of people telling me I can kiss that goodbye. No more beer drinking, Bar-B-Que eating, Burnt Orange Saturdays, Texans Blue Sundays for this guy they say. I’m not sure that necessarily needs to be the case. What better bonding experience for father and son that enjoying some perfectly grilled meat and washing it down with a nice cold one….granted, for me that means a Corona with Lime and for him that will be milk, but they both come in a bottle so its all the same.
It’s currently the offseason, so that gives me a couple months to prepare…and convince momma that tailgating is great for child development…may be a touch sale, but I think I can do it.
What are yall’s thoughts….is tailgating possible with a newborn or should I hang up my aprons and spatulas this season??
